Replacement Discs for Batman: The Complete Television Series Are On The Way

If you are one of those waiting to receive your replacement discs for the Batman: The Complete Television Series, help is here! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has begun to mail the discs for both Blu-Ray and DVD  that replace the errors found during their original release in November 2014.

If you requested replacement discs and haven't received your discs yet, you will receive an email like the one below when they are on the way.

We are pleased to notify you that your replacement discs for Batman: The Complete Television Series set – Blu-Ray and/or DVD – are in the mail.

For Blu-Ray, you will receive discs 1 and 5; for DVD, discs 1 and 8.  For Batman: The Complete Television Series Season One set, you will receive disc 1.

If you purchased more than one set, your replacement discs will deliver under separate cover for each Blu-Ray and/or DVD set.  You will get an email notice for each shipment.

Batman '66 TV Series - Updated Press Release With All the Bat Details, Bat Bells & Whistles, and Bat Options

For those of you who have been waiting an eternity for the 1966 Batman TV Series to be released on DVD, Help is here! Next week we get the show we all love with multiple purchasing options for every Bat-Fan. Plus I couldn't more tickled contaminated cowl pink by the fact that the Adam West and Burt Ward screen tests and Batgirl presentation are indeed included with the release. 5 Must Have Classic Batman TV Series Toys

The well is running dry for the classic Batman TV series toys that I wanted to pick up this year, but there are a few more coming down the pike that I am looking to buy.

We've already seen the Batman and Robin 2-pack, Batusi Batman, Batmobile, and the first wave trio of Batman, The Riddler, and The Penguin. Fear not citizens! The Joker and Surf's up! Batman will coming shortly, but in the meantime, here's a few more items I am still looking forward too.

I have been waiting my whole life for these action figures to be released.

Actually, I think most Batman Fans and Toy Collectors have been. I like to think of these figures as vintage and have been lost since 1966 only to be found 47 years later.

There are many more Batman TV series figures rolling out this August, but first up is this Batman Classics 1966 TV Moments Action Figure 2-Pack, which includes both Batman and Robin.

The Quest for a Cowl: How to Make Adam West Batman Gloves

I've been shopping around for the best quality and most accurate costume components for my 1966 Batman TV series costume and from what I found, Chuck and Lynne Williams make the best Batman Cowl. I have also come to find out that the Williams' also make screen accurate Robin and Wonder Woman costumes as well.

One other cool thing I found was Lynne's blog "Sewing Cafe," where Lynne shares her sewing talents and a look at how these wonderful creations come together. Recently she revealed how to make Adam West style Batman gloves. When I was about 7 years old, I sewed a Spiderman costume for myself and actually learned how to sew back then, but I am not sure if I am going to attempt to make my own gloves. Sunday Funnies: Chewbacca Hairdo

I have seen a really cool photos of a Batman hairdo that was created when the 1966 Batman TV series was ultra popular and I am sure many have sported Princess Leia's cinnamon rolls, but this one takes the take.

Batman Theme Performed on Hullabaloo

I came across this clip of the Hullabaloo Dancers dancing to Neal Hefti's Batman theme from the 1966 TV series and thought I'd put it up. I am pretty sure it's George Hamilton doing the intro, but I am not sure who his co-host is. Does any one know? This is before my time. Honest. ;-)



Update: Our faithful chum, Ivan, has identified George Hamilton's co-host as Lainie Kazan. Ironically, Kazan's Playboy pics inspired Jack Kirby's DC Comics superheroine Big Barda.

Holy Acts of Congress! Batgirl Wants Equal Pay

Most of the Batman cast was reunited in 1974 for the PSA message for equal pay for men and woman. When the 1989 Batman movie came out a lot of footage came out that was Batman related including this commercial.

I do vaguely recall seeing this when it originally was airing although I was about 4 years old. Every bit of Batman footage that had been archived came out of the wood work in 1989. I remember seeing this on a compilation tape of various Batman footage called 'Batmania'.

William Dozier came back to do the Desmond Doomsday narration, Burt Ward as Robin, and Yvonne Craig as Batgirl. All reprised their roles for this Public Service announcement, but no Adam West. I've never been able to find out why he didn't participate. Maybe he was still fighting the type casting thing. Batman was portrayed by Richard Gautier, who was best known as Hymie the Robot on Get Smart. It's fun to watch. Check it out.

Holy Smokes Batman! New Robin Site.

A while back we posted a string of Robin's Holy phrases from the first season of the Batman TV series.

It's called "Holy Smokes Batman!" and has a complete set of audio clips from every season of the show plus the 1966 movie. If you'd like to hear every "Holy..." spoken by Burt Ward as Robin The Boy Wonder check it out.

Batman Adam West Sings Miranda

Many TV and movie stars like Don Johnson, Patrick Swayze, or Eddie Murphy give a go at a musical career when they are at their peak. Back in 1966, Adam West was no different.

Adam West cut a record of song entitled "Miranda." Included in lyrics were tons of references to the Batman TV show without actually coming out and saying he was the Caped Crusader.



There are mentions of Zzonk, mask, Bruce, "Boy Genius" rather than "Boy Wonder", various criminal activity, and Super-Thermo-B nuclear long underwear.

It's fun take a listen. Holy, Sherlock Holmes...Boy Genius!

Cast of Batman on Family Feud

I became a fan of the 1966 Batman TV series while my family still lived in Chicago before I started elementary school. To my disappointment I discovered when we moved that Batman did not air Las Vegas. Although, George Reeves as Superman did, but alas, no Batman

The only thing I had to look forward too was that the 1966 Batman movie would air a couple times a year. So I always looked forward to anything I could set my eyes on Batman TV series related.

Whether it be interviews, guest staring on other TV shows, or in this case game shows.

Here is an appearance of the cast of Batman on Family Feud that aired in the early 80's. Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, Lee Meriwether, and Vincent Price played for charity among other TV show stars of the 60's. I had the opportunity to meet Richard Dawson around this time by running into him at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas.









I remember watching this like yesterday. It' fun to watch again.

How to Build a Life Sized Batmobile Tumbler.

It seems most Bat Fans I know prefer the George Barris 1966 version of the Batmobile. But if you love all styles of the Dark Knights crime fighting vehicle or prefer the new Christian Bale version, here's how to put together one for yourself as a display model.

I came across the site Instructables on how to make a life sized Batmobile Tumbler and Batman Themed Halloween Display and thought it was pretty clever. The articles explains it's so simple an average Joe can put it together, which is good for me as you wouldn't know I am my Father's son. I am only handy when I need to be.

The author, Jerry Jodloski did it as a Halloween Display last year. It came complete with an animated Batman, a Bat Signal, Batman themed music, Bat sound effects, and his wife Heather dressed as Batgirl. Check it out. It's pretty cool. I wonder if my wife would let me do this for Halloween this year?
