More Mattel Classic Batman TV Series Action Figures and Toys To Come

Mattel's Classic Batman TV series toy line wave I
If you're one of those who thought the Mattel '66 Batman line was at end. Help is here.

I was skeptical about Mattel pulling the plug on their Classic Batman toy line since I was never able to find any official announcement from Mattel. I had either read it on other toy or Batman forums or people were commenting or emailing the Batcave Toy Room with the news, but a new bat signal is shining bright over all the Desmond Doomsday voiceovers.

Toy Review: Mattel - Classic TV Series Batman, Riddler, and Penguin Action Figures

Bam! Mattel's first wave of Classic Batman TV series action figures
I am not sure what started my love of the Caped Crusader. I am in a constant debate with myself of whether the Classic Batman TV series or Mego's World's Greatest Super Heroes Batman was the cause, but either way I love all that is Batman and at long last I have more toys to add to that love.

Finally, after 47 since its first episode aired on January 1, 1966 there or toys based on a TV series that is as popular as it was when it began airing all those years ago.

Toy Review: Mattel Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile Toy

Mattel's Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile

Atomic Batteries to power...Turbines to speed.

Roger, ready to move out.

The above dialogues is as iconic as "To the Bat-Poles!" Or "To the Batmobile!" from the classic 1966 Batman TV series, but what does it mean? It means the Batmobile is revved up and ready for action and so is Mattel's rendition of the Dynamic Duo's rolling arsenal.

Toy Review: Mattel 1966 Batman and Robin 2 Pack

Mattel 1966 Batman and Robin action figure 2-pack
I have been waiting my whole life for these action figures to be released.

Actually, I think most Batman Fans and Toy Collectors have been. I like to think of these figures as vintage and have been lost since 1966 only to be found 47 years later.

There are many more Batman TV series figures rolling out this August, but first up is this Batman Classics 1966 TV Moments Action Figure 2-Pack, which includes both Batman and Robin.

Mattel Reveals 1966 Batman TV Series Ken and Barbie Dolls at Toy Fair 2013 (Photos)

I've shared photos of the Batman TV series action figures revealed by Mattel for the 2013 Toy Fair. However, do you want to know a secret? Do you promise not to tell? Oh, oh closer. At one time I  had a Barbie Travel Camper, but I put super hero stickers on it I swear. I converted into a Justice League version of the Mego Mobile Bat Lab. Nevertheless, I have never in my life owned a Barbie doll, but that might just change this year.

Mattel Reveals Batman TV Series Toys at Toy Fair 2013

As you may know I love Batman, but I especially love the Batman TV series. I grew watching the series that starred Adam West and Burt Ward as the Dynamic Duo and it was quite possibly the very reason I become such a Bat-Fan.

Retro-Action DC Super Heroes: Kyle Rayner

Well, after a two month delay, I finally was able to order Kyle Rayner. The delay was caused by, of all things, he was missing his power ring. They forgot to paint it. So here he is in all his green glory.

Kyle Rayner, is the last of MattyCollector.com Green Lantern exclusives from the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes line. This most likely is the last figure to ever be produced for the line as well, as the entire line has been cancelled by Mattel. The action figure is fourth to be released as part of the Green Lantern exclusives proceeded by Sinestro (Sinestro Corp Outfit), Guy Gardner, and John Stewart.

Unlike the Green Lantern from wave 1 and John Stewart, who share the same costumes, but have an exclusive head sculpt, this 8" Kyle Rayner figure, like the aforementioned Guy Gardner, has an original costume made especially for the figure.

This Green Lantern comes with a black & white cloth outfit and is accompanied by a green power battery that also came with all other Green Lantern action figures in the line.

His blister card has the same retro look, reminiscent of the vintage Mego action figures, as all other figures in the line and shares the same green color as his exclusive counterparts.

Release date: Originally July 15, 2011 changed to September 15, 2011

Assortment: V4309

Retail: $19.99

Weapons and accessories: Power Battery

As an added bonus, I received a $5 coupon to be used towards the purchase of any DC Universe 6 inch action figure. Wish I would have received one of these for every Matty Collector purchase I made. Who should I get with my coupon?

Mattel Cancels the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes

I was devastated to read over at the Bat-Blog today that there was a save the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes toys campaign and that Mattel has cancelled the super heroes action figure toy line. Actually, I feel ill. No, I think I am going to faint. Is there a Dr. Mego in the house?!

I love this line and have been religiously buying wave after wave of these Mego resurrected treasures. After all, it was the Mego World's Greatest Super Heroes toys that made me a toy fan to begin with. I have looked forward to what characters would released with each wave and had fun speculating what action figures were yet to be released. If you are a fan of these toys like I am, please go HERE and sign the petition to keep the line alive or at the least release them as Mattty Collector exclusives. Because my Batman needs a Robin.
