After a good 30 days or more delay from what we were originally promised, we finally get the first look at not only Ben Affleck's version of Batman, but his Batmobile too.

Bat-Fans have been waiting with many a sweaty brow for what Ben would look like in the new Bat Suit and this Bat-Fan for one is pleased. Not only with the suit, but the Keaton/Bale combo Batmobile as well.

It's Looking a Lot Like 1966 Around Here...Especially Toy Wise

I don't know if I have ever received these many boxes of toys in the mail in a week. August is '66 Batman month here at the Batcave Toy Room as the first of the long awaited Batman toys start to ship.

If I Had a Million Dollars, I'd Buy a Batmobile

Atomic batteries to power...turbines to speed. My ultimate toy, the Batmobile, is going up for auction.

Batman and Robin's ride from the 1966 TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward is being sold on January 19. The 1955 Lincoln Futura that legendary custom car designer George pimped out is one of the most recognizable cars in the world.

Red Alert! Prepare Hot Wheels Batcopter For Immediate Takeoff...

Usually, I haven't had a lot of luck when looking for Hot Wheels Batman TV series inspired vehicles. It's just luck of the draw that I have been able to find Bat-vehicles like the Batmobile, Batboat, or Batcycle at either Toy R US or Target, but when it came to pick up the Batcopter, it was right there waiting for me.

While on  a mission at my friendly neighborhood Target to find another Battle For Gotham City for Eric Stettmeier's very own, I walked right into a display of the latest Hot Wheels representing the vehicles of the Batman TV series and movies. If it wasn't for Eric not being able to find the elusive Dark Knight Rises action figure set, I may have missed this entirely. Isn't karma cool?

The Batcopter itself is along lines in terms of detail of the other bat-vehicles and I am very pleased with its appearance. Although, the packaging does have a rock like background, reminiscent of the Batcave, I wish it had a matching blue background like the other vehicles. However, I do like the rock version better. I only wish Hot Wheels had done that with the earlier packing.

Nevertheless, I am glad to now have a complete set of the Batman vehicles that appeared on the TV series. Gosh darn it! I forgot about Batgirl's Batcycle. It's always the little things.

Here's a look at my Warner Bros. Batmobile Tin. I have never opened it, but I do know it contains bat shaped candy. Reminds me of the Star Wars candy filled heads from the 80's. How cool!

Polar Lights Batmobile 1:25 Scale Snap-Together Plastic Model Kit

I just can't get enough of George Barris' creation of the Dark Knight's car and I just couldn't pass up picking up another version of my favorite automobile. The TV series Batmobile was originally to be built by vehicle designer Dean Jeffries, when the series was to begin airing during the 1966-'67 television season. However, when ABC ramped up production on the series to air during the 1965-'66 season, Jeffries was unable to complete the Batmobile in time and the car was turned over to George Barris. Barris barely completed the car in time himself, as filming had begun on the pilot and the painting of the car was still not complete.

I picked up this second version of Polar Lights' Batmobile at Hobby Lobby. With a price tag of $27.99, it's a little steep for a snap-together kit, but with a handy dandy 40 percent off coupon, it's a little better priced.

This version comes fully painted and includes a pre-painted Batman and Robin, detailed interior, license plate and dash placard decal options, and pre-painted Bat-wheel spinners. I'd love to put this baby together, but I think I'll keep it mint in box for now.

Collecting Christmas ornaments has never been part of my collecting until I came across this keepsake of the world's most recognizable car...The Batmobile.

The Dark Knight Intro Done in Batman 1966 Theme Style

While I was doing my regular search for cool Batman related videos, I came across this intro from the 1966 Batman TV series re-imagined with The Dark Knight in mind. Adam West's name was replace with Christian Bale's and Gary Oldman with a likeness of Commissioner Gordon is in place of Robin. The villains were replaced by versions from the movie. Look for Heath Ledger's Joker and Aaron Eckhart's Two-face. Even the Batmobile Tumbler is there over the George Barris version. I just love the creativity that goes into these fan made videos.

The Evolution of the Batmobile from 1948 to 2010

Batman has always been well, Batman. His suit, as I see it, hasn't really changed that much. When you see him you know it's him. In a way I guess you can say the same about the Cape Crusaders car...The Batmobile.

The Batmobile has had way more looks than the Dark Knight himself, but just like Batman, when you see the Batmobile, you know that it is the Batmobile.

1966 Batman TV Series Batmobile is the Ultimate Collectible

I've discussed before that the missing piece to my Batman collection is the 1966 TV series Batmobile. I have seen different versions of the caped crusaders cruiser at many auto shows, but I would love to have a chance to at actually sit in one not mention own one. The good news is I could actually pick up an exact replica of one these babies from Fiberglass Freaks.

Mark Racop, owner of Fiberglass Freaks, has been making replica's of one the most recognizable cars in the world for the past few years, but now he has been officially licensed by DC Comics to produce replicas of the TV series that starred Adam West.

Mark's 1966 Batmobile's have a six month build out and are sold for $150,000. They ask for a $50,000 deposit, $50,000 when the body is mounted to the chassis, $30,000 when the car is in first prime, $15,000 when the car is painted, and the balance of $5,000 upon completion.

Now all I have to do is get the money together to order one of these Super Elite vehicles. Anyone want to contribute to my Batmobile fund?

How Far is Gotham City From the Batcave?

Fans of the Batman TV series are well aware of the distance to Gotham City from the Batcave. The answer is 14 miles as can be seen by the road sign the Batmobile passes as it exits the secret entrance to the Batcave.

A new book regarding Batman came out today,"Gotham City 14 miles: 14 Essays on Why the 1960s Batman TV Series Matters." I caught wind of this book from the Bat-Blog and I need to get a copy of this book myself.

The premise of the book is 14 essays written by 14 different authors in regards to the importance the Batman TV Series. If you'd like to get a copy of this new book you can do so HERE.

Batman XXX: A Porn Parody DVD

We took a look at the first trailer for this a few months ago and it appears it is finally on sale...Batman XXX: A Porn Parody. This blog was designed to share my toy collection, but it also discusses things I remember from when I was a kid to what I find interesting in the Sci-fi realm. I have never owned a porno nor have I watched one in several years, but this porno parody interests me strangely.

From the looks of it the producers went all out on this one. From authentic costumes, Batmobile replica, and even using Bronson Cave as a location for the Batcave. If any thing check out the trailers. I found it interesting how they got around using the rights to Batman. We can't get the TV series on DVD, but we can get a Batman sex tape released. Go figure.

Corgi Batmobile Collection

Here's a look at an awesome Corgi collection. The majority of the vehicles are Batman related and boy do they look sweet.

Looks like there are several versions of the Corgi 267 Batmobiles. Check out the one with the red wheels.

You can also see variations of the Batboat as well as, the Batcopter.

You can also catch a glimpse of the Supermobile there. I always hate that Corgi decided to have the fists in the front of the vehicle molded in red. I had painted mine silver at one point.

TVs Batman Does Price is Right iPhone Game Promo

I remember seeing on Adam West's Facebook page that he was sitting in a dressing room waiting to film a promo for the Price is Right iPhone game back in February.

Here's the result of filming that promo. Looks like he and the Price is Right announcer, Rich Fields had a great time driving around the CBS back lot in the Batmobile.

Check out Rich in that Robin costume. Too bad Adam didn't wear his Batman cowl or even his Batman costume. Anyway it's still pretty cool. Check it out.

Pleasantly I found this this photo of Batman and Robin in the Batmobile posted on my Facebook today by my nephew. I have discussed my nephew before here at The Batcave Toy Room, but the nephew I usually talk is actually my great nephew who is five years old.

The nephew who posted the pic is actually two years younger than me. He was always Robin to my Batman and I probably put him through more torture devices than the Boy Wonder himself.

I always love when people know me to well.

Cool Batcave Playset From The Toyroom

Most Mego and Batman collectors I would assume own a vintage Mego Batcave. I have owned 3 in my lifetime. Including the one I have now box and all.

I have seen them sell on EBay for as much as $300 or more, but here is a look at a cool custom Batcave from The Toyroom.


Both sections open to reveal the playset. The playset doors double as floor space and the trophy room walls snap on to the sides.


Here you can see Batman at the Bat Computer that comes with interchangeable view screens.

This playest looks awesome. It may be a little pricey at $325, which puts it in line price wise with the vintage Mego version. If you are hungry for original Batman toys you might want to pick one of these up.
