Patterns for 1966 TV Series Batman and Robin on Sale at Williams Studio 2

Those of you who follow my Quest For a Cowl series already know I am assembling an Adam West Batman costume. I already have my Batman cowl, made by fellow Bat-Fan Will Reeb, and have locked down my utility belt, gloves, body suit, and boots, but I will now have a way to get my trunks and cape made in the same fashion designed by Jan Kemp 46 years ago.


Costume designer Lynne Williams and her hubby, fellow Bat-Fan, Chuck Williams, have painstakingly researched the original costumes for the series and have revealed exactly how to make an exact replica of Adam West's and Burt Ward's iconic crime fighting gear.

For those of you who don't know, Lynne and Chuck are well known among Fans of the 1966 TV series as well as, Bat-Fans in general and Cosplayers for their costume designs and attention to detail.

Whether you are looking to have a Bat-Suit of your very own or just would like to add the costume designs to your collection, now is the time to do it. The Quest for a Cowl: Ordered My Batman TV Series Replica Cowl

This week has been off the hook. I have been behind with posts lately as this week has been crazy. Business has been good, but the month didn't quite turn out as well has we had hoped, but it was enough to cause a few later than usual nights. We also had a renter move out that had left the house a mess and we had a lot of cleaning and repairs to do. We completed the finishing touches yesterday and the new tenant moved in today. To top it all off, I have been sick as a dog all week, but today my phaser power is at about 85 percent. So after an exhausting, but successful week I have finally ordered my Adam West Batman TV series replica Batman cowl.

After researching the 1966 Batman Message Board I have been putting together the resources of where I can get each of the components of a full replica of the costume worn by Adam West on the Batman TV series. After talking to other cosplayers and from what I have read on the 1966 Batman Message Board, Chuck and Lynne Williams are the best cowl makers in the business, but I decided to go with fellow Bat-Fan Will Reeb's awesome creations for my first cowl. From what I found Will's cowls are a close second to Chuck's and Lynne's cowls and fit better into my budget. Most say Will could get just as much for his cowls as the Williams' do, but currently you can get one from him for $350.

I have also recently joined the non-profit organization, Justice League of Las Vegas. Justice League of Las Vegas cosplayers promote literacy through the reading of comic books and personal appearances in costume of their favorite comic book characters. The group also does appearances for other charities as needed. I am very excited to be a part of this amazing group and will be donning my cape and cowl as soon as it is complete to support this great organization.

Soon I will be knocking out each piece of the costume one by one and will keep you in the loop of it's progress. I am hoping to have it complete by the end of September. After that I will be on hunt for more Batman screen accurate costumes from the Batman movies. Stay tuned.

Happy Halloween From The Batcave Toy Room!

I was interested in finding out that Taylor Swift has a bit of the Geek in her. Here's a pic of her dressed up as Chewbacca one Halloween. I guess all of her other friends were dressing in sexy version of costumes and she wanted to do something different. She loved being able to run around and do crazy things and no one knew it was her.

Vintage Batman T-shirt, Cosplay, and a Kick Ass Movie!

What a day of Geekdom! I took a day off today and man was it great.

I had picked up this cool vintage Batman and Robin T-shirt a while back and actually kind of forgot about it. I don't know why I hadn't worn it, but today I broke it in.

I headed over to the new Hooters in my area for lunch this afternoon. In their own way I consider Hooter's girls having a form of cosplay. After all it is kind of a costume rather than an uniform. Any Hooter's girl can give me curious stirrings in my utility belt just as any Wonder Woman, Batgirl, or Supergirl could.

After lunch I headed over to the movies. I have been so busy I have been way behind on my movie watch list, but today I made it out to see Kick Ass. I just have to say Kick Ass was "kick ass."

I loved Nicholas Cage's attempt to do Adam West's Bat-Speak. I have to say the movie wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be fun, but it was way more action oriented than I though it would be. If you haven't seen it you need to check it out.

My Nephew's Cool Batman and Robin T-shirt

My nephew reminds me so much of myself it's scary. If you didn't know he was my nephew you would think he was my son.

This past weekend we went to a family barbecue and I immediately spotted him wearing this this Batman t-shirt. I thought it was pretty cool looking.

Batman was in his classic costume, but Robin's was a little different. I think I have seen Robin in this costume before (just don't where). You can see here Robin is in a full body suit and has a cape scalloped similar to Batman's.

I need to pick one of these up for myself. I think it looks cool.

P.S. you can see Indiana Jones in my nephews left hand. Damn this kid is cool.

Burt Ward's Robin Costume Stolen by Conan O'brien

I heard this story before and think it is completely hilarious. Here is Conan O'Brien talking with James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio about his Harvard Lampoon days and how he pulled the ultimate prank on Burt Ward.

Just like an episode straight out of Batman, Conan was able to steal an original Robin costume worn by Burt Ward on the Batman TV series. This is a great story.

I am Going To Need an Ocean of Calamine Lotion

I don't know what it is, but I love women in super hero costumes. I don't care if it's Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl or in this case The Dark Knight's itch inducing villain, Poison Ivy.

Batman would have his hands full with this one. I love the creativity that goes into the outfits Bat-Fans put together.

I was checking out what was new at Burt Wards Fan Site today and came across this little gem that I need to get into my collection. It's an official Robin Replica Mask.

The mask is polyester with a satin lining. Each mask is custom made by hand and professionally sewn.

Holy Womens Wear! Bat Pantyhose.

I've seen many cool Batgirl costumes and different accessories, but this was the first time have actually seen something like this-Bat pantyhose. Now I don't think Batman would actually be caught wearing these (at least I hope not), but Batgirl might. I think they look pretty cool.
