2011Toy Fair Retro-Action DC Super Heroes Green Lantern Exclusives

From the looks of the pic above from the 2011Toy Fair, the 5th wave of Retro-Action DC Super Hereos is going to be strictly Green Lantern related. I guess I had already heard this and it makes perfect sense with the new Green Lantern movie coming out this summer.

Like the previous waves the fifth wave will include four new figures as usual and those would be Green Lantern, Hal Jordon and Sinestro in new duds. Different from the previously released figures in wave 1. The other two in line will be temporary Hal Jordan replacements as the Green Lantern, Guy Gardner and John Stewart.

The figures look pretty cool to me and I will definitely be addding them to my collection. What does everyone else think?

Another Cool Star Wars Toy From the 2010 Toy Fair

I am very excited about the rocket firing Boba Fett that was announced at this years toy fair (I need to find out how to get tickets to that thing). Here's another look at Hasbro out doing themselves with an update to the AT-AT.

Back in 1981 when Kenner released the original vintage AT-AT I thought it was the Catwoman's meow. It is one of the greatest Star Wars toys the had ever come out with.

The Empire Strikes Back celebrates it's 30th birthday this year and Hasbro is helping to celebrate with this baby.

The chin blasters have sound effects from the movie, has movie quotes from Darth Vader himself, has a winch so you can help Luke plant his grenade, a back that opens to reveal speeder bike storage. The All Terran Armored Transport holds up to 20 figures with room for two pilots and a commander in the cockpit. It comes with an AT-At driver and feet sized to scale so it can crush anything that crosses its path.

The force is with Hasbro on this one.

Toy Fair 2010 Reveals Vintage Style Boba Fett with Firing Rocket

Every dream of owning a vintage "rocket firing" Boba Fett action figure? Well, that dream is now going to be a reality without costing you your life savings.

Hasbro announced at this years Toy Fair they will be releasing a "rocket firing" vintage style Boba Fett.

The "rocketing firing" Boba Fett is one of the most sought after prototypes. Originally, Kenner had intended to produce the original Boba Fett action figure with a removable rocket that could be fired from his backpack.

Prior to production Kenner decided to abandon the mechanism for safety reasons. It felt a child might swallow the rocket or go the way of Ralphie from 'A Christmas Story', "You'll shoot your eye out kid."

Boba Fett was first offered as a mail in offer. Just send in 4 proof of purchases from four other figures and Boba Fett was yours. The original promotion for the action figures described the figure as coming with the firing rocket, but when he came in the mail it was without the rocket.

A note was included explaining the spring-launched rocket was removed for safety reasons. You can see an example of how the figure came along with the note below.

Not only is Hasbro offering the vintage figure, but doing it the way it was originally done back in 1979, by way of mail in offer. This time though it will cost you five proof of purchases, but it's worth it to actually get the rocket firing mechanism this time.

Here's a look at the new figure with photos from Jedi Insider. Looks just like the original. How cool is this.

The figure will come with two rockets, a long firing version and a shorter non-firing version.

It's a great year for being a toy collector!
