Last night's episode of Smallville gave a sneak peak look at the second to last episode "Prophecy" before the 2 hour series finale airing May 13.
Looks like there will be return of Suprgirl as well as, what looks to be the beginnings of The Legion of Doom. I can make out Captain Cold, Black Manta, and Solomon Grundy. Anyone have any idea who the others are?

What's Been Happening in The Batcave Toy Room
Here's a quick look at what's happening in The Batcave Toy Room. I've been re-organizing the toy room and pulling toys out of their storage containers. Not quite in the way I originally intended. (I went with shelves rather than with slat walls), but you can see Batman's Wayne Foundation building, the newly re-acquired Spider-Man Helicopter, as well as, the just in new Sinestro from the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes line. I am expecting to finish putting everything up within the next couple of weeks. After that I will be starting the long planned video blog and getting back to what I love most...Batman and Star Wars Toy collecting.

First Look at Tom Hardy on the Set of The Dark Knight Rises
Since Tom Hardy was the first to be announced to have a starring role in The Dark Knight Rises, it is only fitting that the first pic we get to see is Hardy on the set of the latest Batman movie.
Hardy has been cast as the villain Bane. The arch enemy known to be the one that broke Batman's back. Some Bat-fans have had concerns that Hardy wouldn't be able to bulk up enough, but he looks like he got beefed up to me. Besides, if he were to get much bigger, would it really look realistic? I know Bane is huge in the comics, but come on, you can't be Hulkish with out some CG.
It is unknown at this time if this is the final look for the villain behind the wrestling match, but we'll see. Filming begins next month and before you know it, more pics will be floating around.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard Roles Revealed for The Dark Knight Rises
Fans have been speculating who Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard will be playing in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, which begins filming next month. Rumors have imagined everything from The Riddler to Talia al Ghul, but here is what the official release has to say about it:
I think it was more fun thinking of them as villains than actual regular citizens of Gotham. What do you think of them in these roles?
(via Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter)
"Cotillard will appear as Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprise board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham. Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon"

Sinestro Matty Collector Retro-Action DC Super Heroes
I just picked up the new Sinestro from the 5th wave of the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes. This fifth wave is strictly comprised of Green Lantern characters. Most likely because of the new Green Lantern movie coming out this year.
This new wave super hero action figures will include Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner. One figure will be released on the 15th of ever month from now until July 15th.
These are Matty Collector exclusives and are not available at Toys R Us like the other Retro-Action heroes. I bought my Green Arrow from Matty Collector and they sold out fast. So don't miss out. Order your Sinestro HERE.
I will post pics as soon as my Sinestro comes in.

Wonder Woman Wears Short, Shorts After All
Rumor has is it the Adrianne Palicki will need to start busting out the Nair because she will donning the classic star spangled blue shorts like Lynda Carter used to wear.
Anxious Wonder Woman fans were appalled at the blue latex leggings Palicki was found wearing in the initial photo release of her new costume. Shortly after, pics were released with a similar style pant, but more of a cotton material opposed to the latex.
NBC president, Robert Greenblatt says, that it was always planned to have Diana Prince maintain various versions of her costume, but I am not buying it. If so, why not mention that after the onslaught of any happy fans? Why now? Supposedly, Palicki will be seen wearing the traditional shorts in her final confirmation with Elizabeth Hurley, who will be the first villain, Veronica Cale.
I guess it's cool Wonder Woman is going to have an expanded wardrobe. Hey, Lynda Carter did. She had a scuba outfit, motorcycle outfit, and don't forget her roller skate outfit. Oh, boy. Can't wait to see the first pics in her new shorts.

More Vintage Style Batman T-shirts
My very cool yet, non-geek wife picked up these ultra cool vintage style Batman t-shirts from Old Navy's Collectabilitees for me. My Batman t-shirt collection has been really growing lately. No complaints here, but I probably haven't had these many Batman shirts at one time since I was kid. But hey, these shirts definitely make me feel like a kid again and that's what life is all about isn't it.

Retro-Action DC Super Heroes Wonder Woman and Cheetah
Here's a look at the remaining characters from the 3rd wave of Mattel's Retro-Action DC Super Heroes. We've already taken a look at The Flash and Captain Cold, but let's take a look at Wonder Woman and Cheetah.
She comes complete with lasso, bullet proof bracelets. and tiara, again unlike the painted Mego version.Overall, the figure is well done just like the other action figures in the line and has many improvements over the original.
Cheetah shares the same body mold as Wonder Woman and wears her traditional cheetah catsuit. The figure is pretty simplistic and does not have any accessories.
Other than Princess Leia, I have never really owned a female action figure, until now. Even with Mego's original Super-Gals line, which was part of the World's Greatest Super Hero collection, I never owned Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, or Supergirl as a kid and still don't to this day. Not sure why that is other than probably as kid I thought of them as Barbie dolls and I guess I thought of Leia as one of the guys, but after seeing her in her slave girl outfit in Return of the Jedi that concept quickly changed.
First off, Mattel's version of Wonder Woman has a great costume and beats Mego's silk screened version. It is the classic comic book version. Not the current pant version like Adrienne Palicki will be wearing in the new Wonder Woman series.
I love the fact that Mattel has made a counterpart arch villain for each super hero in the line. Unlike, Mego, who primarily produced Batman or Spiderman villains (no complaints here), but they needed to produce more Super Foes to go with the heroes they sold. Cheetah is the purrrrfect arch nemesis to go along with Wonder Woman.
Cheetah is much like Batman's arch nemesis Catwoman and probably best remember for being a member of the Legion of Doom on The Superfriends. Actually, Hanna Barbera, wanted Catwoman and The Joker to be members of the Legion, but weren't granted licensing by DC because of the characters appearing on New Adventures of Batman cartoon. Likewise, The Riddler and Scarecrow were not able to appear on the New Adventures of Batman. The Riddler can be seen in the opening credits, but with a pink outfit on, which makes me think they had intended for him to be on the show, but couldn't due to his Legion of Doom stint, But back to Cheetah.

Kudos to Mattel on another wave of Retro-Action Dc Super Heroes well done. Looking forward to wave 4.

Captain Cold: 3rd Wave Retro-Action DC Super Heroes
Unlike my fellow bloggers at Toyriffic and Super Duper Toy Box, who went on a toy buying fast in February, I had actually picked up a few new acquisitions. Mainly, picking up the next three action figures from the 3rd wave of the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes that I needed. I picked up The Flash in January and of course if I have The Flash, I had to have Captain Cold. In reality, I had to have all the figures from the series, but you get the point.
I always loved DC's cold hearted villains Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold. For some reason I had an extreme interest in devilish instant freeze solutions as a kid and would have loved to at least own of the characters as an action figure. Mego had planned to produce a Mr. Freeze action figure as part of The World's Greatest Super Heroes line, but never did. At least now I have a Captain Cold.

Captain Cold is usually best remembered from the The Challenge of The Super Friends, which in the series he was portrayed as having a blue skin tone. However, he has a normal flesh toned skin color and the figure is more accurate to the characters actual comic book appearance.
Captain Cold comes with a removable freeze gun, blue snow suit, and detailed white boots. Mego used to use the same style boots molded in different colors, but Mattel has gone all out and given the characters specific molds to fit each character.
The rear of the blister card has the character depictions of the other characters in the 3rd wave. All in all I think this is one of the most detailed figures Mattel has put together for this the Retro-Action line and hope there is more like this to come.
