Loving Star Wars and Super Heroes Must Run in the Genes
It was my nephew's 4th birthday this past weekend and he is a chip off the old block, as evidenced by the Star Wars haul pictured above. Last year he had a Batman themed party that was as fun as this years Star Wars party.
His older seven year old cousin is into it all too. Star Wars, Batman, Indiana Jones, just like me. These two little Younglings remind my so much of myself, it amazes me. Of course they cover the newer toys as I am more of a vintage toy kind of guy, but these two collectors in training run right for the Batcave Toy Room every time they come over my place. They love Uncle John's vintage toys. I know it just kills them not being able to open and play with everything.
To top it all off we had this ultra cool Darth Vader helmet birthday cake. Cake Boss eat your heart out.

Batman Birthday Cake of the Month For September 2011
Happy birthday fellow Virgo's. I saw this awesome comic book style Batman: The Animated Series birthday cake and had to post it. I'd almost hate to eat it, it looks so cool with all Batman's arch enemys: Penguin, Poison Ivy, Joker, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Harlequin, and of course Batman himself.

Star Wars Heroes and Villains Pancake Molds
I was always fond of the Batman and Superman cake molds from the 70's and always wished my Mom would buy them and make me a Batman cake, darn it. Unfortunately, that never happened. However, I have had tons of Batman themed cakes over the years. So, no complaints there.
My nephew, who will forever be my Robin, posts out of the blue Batman and Star Wars pics, collectibles, toys, etc. regularly on my Facebook page and he always finds the coolest stuff. The latest are these Star Wars Heroes & Villains Pancake Molds. Not exactly toys, but definitely collectibles. These are available from Williams-Sonoma for $19.95 and include molds of Darth Vader, Yoda, and Stormtrooper. I'll do the cooking...just bring the syrup. Yum!

My Super Hero Themed 40th Birthday Party.
I have been meaning to post pictures from my 40th birthday party and have finally got to it. Thanks to my wonderful non-geek, but super cool wife for putting the party all together. The cool thing is it was a comic book super hero themed birthday costume party.
My wife and I were the The Green Hornet and Kato. I figured if Seth Rogen can be The Green Hornet so could I. I do have a replica of the mask Van Williams wore on the Green Hornet TV series, but the one I wore was the Green Hornet costume that came out this year to promote the new movie.
I have always had an interest in Cosplay (check out Derf's Domain, he interviews the most popular Cosplayer's in the business) but have never really pursued my interest in that. I do believe I have really picked up the bug for that and will be looking into putting together some cool costumes. The party was a great way to experience it first hand.
I was really pleased how the party turned out and for everyone really getting into it. I can't believe I didn't think of doing this before. I think I need to be doing this every year from now one. Check out the pics below for the great time had by all.
Isn't dressing up as your favorite comic book characters the best. Aside form collecting comic books and related toys of course.

Cool Super Hero Birthday Cakes
I will be celebrating my 40th birthday this year and I have been talking to my wife about having one hell of a birthday bash.My nephew, who is a couple of years younger than me, had a kick ass super hero costume birthday party last year that they called the Super Hero Summit.
I intend to have full blown cosplay party. My wife asked my what I thought we should do for a cake. So I started hunting around for some ideas. Here's what I found.

Most of these cakes were done by LovieCakes.com and CakeCentral.com. Let me know which one you like. If you have any ideas or can send a pic feel free to do so.
I wonder what it would cost to have Adam West be guest at the party. Anyone got the number to his agent?

Another Fanboy in the Making
I friend of mine had a birthday party for her son this past weekend and guess what. No sign of any interest in Batman, but that's OK the boy loves Star Wars.
Do you think it's wrong to have thoughts of stealing a five year olds birthday presents?
As I sat there watching him open his presents I thought what a hall. All these delicious Star Wars toys could be all mine the minute no was looking, but I decided the kid should enjoy the toys just as much I did when I was his age.
He had cool little cake with Darth Vader on top. Plus cupcakes with lightsabers made out of licorice.

I just love seeing these younglings following in the older Jedi's footsteps. Go all other future fanboys.
