Get to See Captain America Twice for FREE
Last month, my friends over at MaximuM Comics sponsored a free movie night with the original Fantastic Four movie that was never released. This movie was a total cheesefest, but was still cool to see.
This month, tonight in fact, they are showing the original 1990 Captain America movie directed by Albert Pyun and starring Matt Salinger as Cap. This film was released in Canada, but not here in the Unites States. Not only are comic book fans going to get to see this piece of comic book history, but those who come out to see tonight's version of Captain America and buy something from the concession stand will get a free ticket to see the first showing of Captain America: The First Avenger on July 22. How cool is that? The thing that blows is that I will be on official Wayne Foundation business and won't be able to attend. I guess the fight against crime comes before...(sigh) everything. You can see the trailer for the original film below.

Captain America: The First Avenger Trailer
We finally get to see more of Captain America: The First Avenger than just pictures. The release of the trailer took place for the Super Bowl. I think this movie looks great and will be right up there with Iron Man as far as story telling. I hadn't even thought of it before, but seeing Chris Evans as weakling Steve Rodgers and transformed into the shield wielding Captain America is just great. I am generally more a DC guy rather than a Marvel, but I am definitely looking forward to this one.

At Last! The First Glimpse of Chris Evan as Captain America
First we caught a glimpse of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and next we get a shot of Chris Evans as The First Avenger: Captain America from Ain't It Cool News. There isn't much to compare other than the two made for TV Captain America movies or the unreleased movie from the 90's, but I think Evans looks great in Cap's red, white, and blue outfit. Looking forward to July 22nd for this one.

Cool Super Hero Birthday Cakes
I will be celebrating my 40th birthday this year and I have been talking to my wife about having one hell of a birthday bash.My nephew, who is a couple of years younger than me, had a kick ass super hero costume birthday party last year that they called the Super Hero Summit.
I intend to have full blown cosplay party. My wife asked my what I thought we should do for a cake. So I started hunting around for some ideas. Here's what I found.

Most of these cakes were done by LovieCakes.com and CakeCentral.com. Let me know which one you like. If you have any ideas or can send a pic feel free to do so.
I wonder what it would cost to have Adam West be guest at the party. Anyone got the number to his agent?
For more Super Hero stuff check us out.

Mego Action Figures Video From 1973
Fellow Bat-Fan and voice actor, Wally Wingert put this video together from a photo story he did as a kid. The story called "The Biggest Robber Yet" and features the first and second wave of Mego World's Greatest Super Heroes including a "RC" Batman, Robin, Superman, Aquaman, Tarzan, Captain America, Spiderman, and Shazam. Wally did this photo story in 1973 so the action figure line was hot off the presses, but it doesn't look like Wally had a removable mask Robin, which would probably place the time line in the later half of 1973. We also get to hear Wally's voice talent too, as he plays all the characters in the story. Enjoy!
