Here's a look at some amateur footage taken of a scene between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle in the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. Not sure where it was taken, but looks to me that it was taken at the location of the new Wayne Manor. Can't wait to see the context of this scene when the movie comes out.

Mattel Cancels the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes
I was devastated to read over at the Bat-Blog today that there was a save the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes toys campaign and that Mattel has cancelled the super heroes action figure toy line. Actually, I feel ill. No, I think I am going to faint. Is there a Dr. Mego in the house?!
I love this line and have been religiously buying wave after wave of these Mego resurrected treasures. After all, it was the Mego World's Greatest Super Heroes toys that made me a toy fan to begin with. I have looked forward to what characters would released with each wave and had fun speculating what action figures were yet to be released. If you are a fan of these toys like I am, please go HERE and sign the petition to keep the line alive or at the least release them as Mattty Collector exclusives. Because my Batman needs a Robin.

Latest News on Anne Hathaway's Catwoman Costume in 'The Dark Knight Rises'
There have been photoshopped photos speculating on what Anne Hathaway's Catwoman costume may look like popping up all over the place. Yet, no actual pics have been released yet, but there is word of what her costume will be like from Hollywood Life.
"Anne's outfit is more tactical, like the comic book than the previous Batman movies, a source very close to the costume design tells us exclusively. "She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it's going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman costumes. She's going to look more like a robber."Can't wait to see the official pics myself, but I especially can't what for what toys and action figures come out based on the movie. Meow!
Adds the insider, "But fan boys shouldn't be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look Smoking hot."

Matty Collector John Stewart Green Lantern
The Postman Cameth again with this months Matty Collector exclusive Green Lantern action figure. This month the release is John Stewart from the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes line. John Stewart first appeared in Green Lantern vol. 2 #87 (December 1971/January 1972), and was created by Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams. Stewart was the appointed replacement for Guy Gardner to fill for Hal Jordan after Gardner was seriously injured.
This Green Lantern as like the other Matty Collector figures, comes in a white box with the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes logo and character name stenciled on the front.
This months blister card was in much better shape then the one I received my Guy Gardner figure.
John Stewart's cloth costume is just like the Hal Jordan Green Lantern figure from wave 1. It does have a nice sculpt head molded after his likeness from the early seventies. However, I always thought that Stewart did not wear a mask like Hal Jordan does. It also comes with the standard molded power battery the other Green Lantern action figures have.
One more to go for this series. Kyle Rayner will be for sale July 15, 2011.

Knight Glider Batman Glider and Triple Strike Robin Kenner 1998
A couple of weeks ago The Super Duper Toy Box posted the awesome score of a Turbo Glider Robin and Robin w/Launching Grappling Hook. So, I thought I would post my counterparts to these awesome action figures. I believe I received these two figures for my 27th birthday from my ex-wife's friend. I am always amazed how so many friends and family members have no idea what to get me for my birthday or holidays. It's easy folks...more toys. Most refer to me as the guy who as everything. That's simply not true. I guarantee there is something out there that I don't have. The world is a giant toy box.
Knight Glider Batman with Jet Wing Pack & Anti-Crime Cam
This Batman is part of The New Batman Adventures series and is molded after the animated TV version. The glider is really cool and as a strip that slides it to reveal different scenes involving Robin.
Notice the BE THE BATMAN CONTEST with a chance to win a $1,000,000. I never entered that contest and the peel and stick entry from is still firmly attached.
Triple Strike Robin with Multi Cannon Slinger
This Robin is part of the Batman & Robin series and one of the action figures created for toys related to the movie of the same name. The slinger comes with 3 different projectiles that resemble grappling hooks to me. Sort of like Batman's Batzooka from the TV series.

My Green Lantern Movie Haul and Review
Last week my very cool, but non-geek wife, scored me tickets to the advanced screening of the new Green Lantern Movie and I was more than ecstatic. Finally, Warner Bros. was getting the rest of JLA on the big screen with my hopes of more to come. I am more of a DC guy than a Marvel, but Marvel has been doing an awesome job of bringing their characters to life and most of all, getting them all together for the epic The Avengers out next year.
| Actually, the 15th, but the ticket says the 16th, |
Now the bad news, I have been nervous about The Emerald Warrior's movie debut since the release of the first trailer. So, were others and Warner Bros. countered any negative comments with "Part of the reason the response to the first trailer was lukewarm was that the big-scale sequences weren't ready to show, and we suffered for it. We can't afford to do that again." Yes, the the CG effects were great and I at one point was thinking, "Man I wonder what it cost to fly everyone out to the the Lost Sector." As for the rest, I do like Ryan Reynolds as an actor, but I am not quite sure if The Green Lantern was the right fit for him. At one point he was attached to The Flash and I think that might have been a better vehicle for him and I was alright with him as Deadpool too. As for the script it seemed like it was a first draft. Even though it had four writers and two of which wrote for comic books.
The script covered all the bases, but had so much to deal with, origins and villains, the editing was very quick cut to keep the story moving and get it all in. Blake Lively did OK as Carol Ferris and we may get to see her as Star Sapphire if there is a sequel, but the love story between her and Hal Jordan was non-existent in my opinion. I really felt nothing for these two.
Peter Sarsgaard was great as Hector Hammond and wish we could have seen more of him. Having to deal with Parallax and Hammond was too much for me. I am generally not a fan of two villains teaming up in a movie, as I think so many of these villains are fabulous and deserve the heroes sole attention.
Green Lantern is at least worth seeing and I do recommend you judge for yourself, but for $300 million, I expected more. You were descent on your maiden voyage Mr. Lantern, but you are certainly no Dark Knight.
Anyone else seen the movie yet? Let me know what you thought.

According to Kermit It's Not Easy Being Green...Lantern
The trailers for the upcoming Muppet movie have been parodying (if that's a word) the latest 2011 summer blockbusters. Of course, since Kermit is green, it is only fitting that they spoof Green Lantern, which I previewed last night. I'll give my thoughts this weekend about that. Until then check this out.

Gotham City Duel Electronic Racing Slot Car Set Was Just Added to my Wish List
While on a routine toy patrol and following up on a lead from my buddy Colin, author of The Super-Duper Toy Box, I headed over to Hobby Lobby to look at the plexi display boxes Colin picked up to display his loose action figures and to see what other collectibles I might find.
While I was there, I spotted this cool Batman slot car kit and I so want to add it my collection, but with the $150 price tag, it definitely would cut into my monthly toy budget. However, with one of Hobby Lobby's 40 percent off coupons, it would come to about $90, which is an awesome deal for this piece.
I was also hoping to find a Polar Lights Batcycle. I picked up my Batmobile and Batboat at Hobby Lobby, but I am yet to see the Batcycle for sale there. I could pick one up on eBay for good price, but with shipping the price gets knocked back up and I was hoping to use a 40 percent off coupon like I did with the other two models.
I am debating on using last months Adsense profits to pick up the slot car set, but I am also expecting to pick up the John Stewart Green Lantern on the 15th from Matty Collector and I am patrolling my local Toys R Us for the fourth wave of the Retro-Action DC Super Heroes line, which includes: Shazam, Black Adam, Martain Manhunter and Darkseid. So, I am going wait and see if I can pick up these other pieces before diving into the slot car race. Wish me luck on my hunt.

Free Advanced Screening Tickets for Green Lantern....Geekasm!
How cool is this? My very cool, but non-geek, wife scored free advanced screening tickets for the new Green Lantern movie, starring Ryan Reynolds, on Wednesday June 15. This allows us to see The Emerald Guardian on the big screen two days before it opens.
Not only did she score the tickets, she received a cool Green Lantern t-shirt and this mini-poster of fellow Green Lantern, Kilowog.
I'll give my review after. Anyone "Green" with envy?

Vintage Amazing Spider-Car by Mego 1976-1980
The 1976 Mego product catalog describes Spider-Man's ride as a new weapon for battling foes of justice everywhere. He sees trouble ahead and presto...the secret spidernet pops into place from the rear compartment. It's a catch for the day. The Spidercar is scaled to hold your Spidey figure and take him and you for a long ride into adventureland for exciting playtimes.
Although, I am primarily a Batman kind of guy, there are some pretty cool toys out there for Spidey. This one included. The foe net trap about says it all.
Where are you coming from Spider-Man? Nobody knows who you are. Actually, just between you and me, I think he's Peter Parker.

Who Moved My DC Comic Book Heroes?
There has been some stirrings going on in comic fans utility belts lately since DC Comics announcement of the revamping of their super hero characters. Some favorable and some not. This announcement and pending change to our beloved heroes has reminded me of the book "Who Moved My Cheese." If you find yourself dismayed by the whole thing remember these points from the book.
- Change Happens - They keep moving the cheese. Hey, forty years ago, Batman moved from the Batcave below Wayne Manor to the Batcave under the Wayne Foundation building and back to the Wayne Manor Batcave. A change of scenery and a new pad is cool.
 - Anticipate Change - Get ready for the cheese to move. Remember this has all happened before and it will happen again. Don't get attached.
 - Monitor Change - Smell the cheese often so you know when it is getting old. Aren't you excited to see what changes are in store for your favorite super hero.
 - Adapt to Change Quickly - The sooner you let go of the old cheese, the sooner you can enjoy new cheese. This isn't an April Fool's prank people. This is going to happen. So, the sooner you get over it the better. Think of all the new adventures. It worked for the J.J. Abrams new series of Star Trek movies.
 - Change - Move with the cheese. Go with the flow. Are you really going to give on your beloved comic book series?
 - Enjoy Change! - Savor the adventure and taste the new cheese! You may like what's happening with a whole new character.
 - Be Ready to Quickly Change Again and Again - They keep moving the cheese. Refer back to point #2. Writers move on, Illustrator do too. It's bound to happen eventually. Be like The Flash and just run with it.
