Breaking: Tom Hardy Pulls Out Of "Suicide Squad"
Tom Hardy, who previously portrayed Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises," has dropped out of Warner Bros' all star cast of their DC Comics based "Suicide Squad" movie.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, Hardy's departure is not immediately clear. However, with Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's film "The Revenant" running behind on its shooting schedule, which Hardy is involved, it is the most likely reason Hardy is leaving the project.
Hardy would have taken on another DC Comic villain, that of Rick Flag, the leader of the Suicide Squad, in the David Ayer's directed film, which the director describes as the "Dirty Dozen' with super villains."
With Hardy exiting the project, that still leaves Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevigne as Enchantress , Viola Davis has been reportedly being cast as Amanda Waller.
Tom Hardy will next be seen along side Charlize Theron in "Mad Max: Road Fury."
"Suicide Squad is set to begin filming in April in Toronto and opens August 5, 2016.
UPDATE: The Wrap is reporting that Jake Gyllenhaal is being looked at as a rplacement.
Are you disappointed that Tom Hardy is leaving and is Jake Gyllenhaal is a good choice as a replacement? Let me know in the comment below.

Marvel or DC?
My nephews, like me, love everything Super Hero related and my oldest daughter is getting to be right up there with the boys. I still think the love this stuff is in the genes. Like me, my 7 year old nephew, River, is an equal opportunity comic book super hero fan and proudly wanted to share this with me and I thought I would share it with you. So what are you, a Marvel or a DC?

Who Moved My DC Comic Book Heroes?
There has been some stirrings going on in comic fans utility belts lately since DC Comics announcement of the revamping of their super hero characters. Some favorable and some not. This announcement and pending change to our beloved heroes has reminded me of the book "Who Moved My Cheese." If you find yourself dismayed by the whole thing remember these points from the book.
- Change Happens - They keep moving the cheese. Hey, forty years ago, Batman moved from the Batcave below Wayne Manor to the Batcave under the Wayne Foundation building and back to the Wayne Manor Batcave. A change of scenery and a new pad is cool.
- Anticipate Change - Get ready for the cheese to move. Remember this has all happened before and it will happen again. Don't get attached.
- Monitor Change - Smell the cheese often so you know when it is getting old. Aren't you excited to see what changes are in store for your favorite super hero.
- Adapt to Change Quickly - The sooner you let go of the old cheese, the sooner you can enjoy new cheese. This isn't an April Fool's prank people. This is going to happen. So, the sooner you get over it the better. Think of all the new adventures. It worked for the J.J. Abrams new series of Star Trek movies.
- Change - Move with the cheese. Go with the flow. Are you really going to give on your beloved comic book series?
- Enjoy Change! - Savor the adventure and taste the new cheese! You may like what's happening with a whole new character.
- Be Ready to Quickly Change Again and Again - They keep moving the cheese. Refer back to point #2. Writers move on, Illustrator do too. It's bound to happen eventually. Be like The Flash and just run with it.

Legends of the Super-Heroes Officially Coming to DVD Oct. 19, 2010
If you are a Batman fan like me, you probably have a bootleg copy the 1979 super campy Super Hero specials "Legends of the Super Heroes: The Challenge" and "Legends of the Super Heroes: The Roast." I don't know about you, but my copies aren't the greatest. But help is coming...On October 19 the live "somewhat" version of the Super Friends is officially released on DVD.
Here's what Warner Bros. had to say at this years New York Comic Con:
Heroes and villains of DC Comics square off in the two-part, live action, made-for-TV (with a laugh track!) smackdowns of Legends of the Super Heroes. The Challenge: Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward of the live-action Batman TV series) lead The Flash, Green Lantern and more JLA members against The Riddler (Frank Gorshin reprising his TV role), Mordu, Weather Wizard and other Doom-dealers. The Legion's ultimate gambit: trick the heroes into downing a diabolical depowering drink! The Roast: Poking fun beats swapping punches when celebrity host Ed McMahon emcees a rowdy rave-up. Who knew DC Super Heroes and villains packed as much verbal wit as physical grit when not locked in combat? These Legends will leave you laughing.
The DVD is going to be sold exclusively at WBShop.com and $19.95 for the 100 minute disc. Pre-order legends of the Super Heroes today.

Ever Think of a Re-Imagined Superman #1?
With first issue comic books for both Superman and Batman selling for a million or more recently, why try and fix what isn't broken?
Warren Ellis, who runs art challenges over on his blog, asked artists to re-imagine the classic 1939 cover to Superman #1.
Here are some of the entries:

What do you think? Anyone think they can do the ultimate re-imagine of Superman #1? Or how about Batman #1? If you think you can, send them to us and we'll get them posted.

Help I Need a Definition! This Looks Like a Job For The Super Dictionary.
Here's a look at my Super Dictionary. I have had this since I was about 8 years old. 'The Super Dictionary' was published in 1978 and was a dictionary using DC comic heroes like Batman, Robin, Superman, Green Arrow, or Wonder Woman to give definitions of words in a comic book format.
As described in the book: The Super Dictionary is a serious book about words written in a fascinating manner just for children. It combines trusted learning theory and America's best known and loved comic characters. The irresistible quality of colorful art, the story form of the definitions and the special challenge to the young learner make this dictionary a book of many uses over a wide age range. Pre-schoolers, beginning readers and advancing readers alike find The Super Dictionary a joy to use. It is clearly organized and is a convenient and entertaining resource book unlike any other. Parents reading the book to children and having it read back to them know the pleasure of participating in a positive learning experience.
-A unique approach, now widely used in schools, combines trusted educational methods and America's best known and loved comic characters.
-Carefully researched and developed by a team of leaders in primary education, teachers and language specialists.
-416 full-color Super dictionary pages, dynamically designed to keep children involved from A to Z.
-A learning tool for developing a meaningful vocabulary, increasing comprehension skills and providing exciting reading practice.
-Strong, motivational superhero content gives each young reader a positive dictionary experience.
The book opens with a definition of each of the presenting DC comic characters and then follows with definitions of words from a to zoo in comic book format.

This book came in handy for me in elementary school and hope it can be useful for my own kids one day.

Batman Arkham Asylum Black & White Statue
Current holder of the Guinness Book of World Record for "Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever," Batman Arkham Asylum has inspired this Batman black & white statue from DC Direct. I have to say Batman is looking pretty sweet. Batarang in hand and all.On sale September 1, 2010 for $80.00 is based on the video game design and measures approximately 7.25" high x 6.25" wide x 4.75" deep, is painted in monochromatic tones, features a Bat-logo shaped base and is packaged in a black and white box.
Why does it take so long for this stuff to come out?

Mego World Greatest Super Hero Collection
This isn't my collection, but it's from Modmart. This is the same guy who shared his 1966 Batman TV movie custom villian figures. It's fun to look at other collectors collections especially, with items you don't have yourself. My Mego 8" inch figures are primarily the DC Comic characters and I didn't have many of the 12" versions. If you have a collection you'd like to share let us know we'd love to post it.
