It Is a Dark Time For This Batman

The creation of this site was to showcase my collection of pop culture goodness and my focus on toys of my childhood. Being from a generation of Mego's World's Greatest Super Heroes, Kenner's Star Wars and Super Heroes Powers Collection those toy lines are my joy, my sole delight, my heaven on Earth, my very paradise. Unfortunately, the Batcave Toy Room, the keeper of my aforementioned treasures is no more...at least for a while.

The room once filled with toys is now empty
The room that once brought joy to so many, including myself and my daughter, is now empty. Its contents have been carefully packed and moved to my current homestead, which is considerably smaller than my former home. Thus, there is really no place to display the nostalgia generating artifacts.

In the past I would occasionally discuss what was happening in my life. I mentioned the loss of my youngest daughter in a round about way two years ago and many of the followers of this site caught on and sent their condolences. I do not search for a pity party, but many of this sites followers have become good friends and at times like that I find that you find out who your true friends. Friends help you move, but true friends help you move a body, and during my lowest times I have definitely found you all to be true friends...needing help moving bodies aside.

Myself and the woman I often referred to as my super cool, yet non Geek wife and the Mother of my children are no longer together. This has put tremendous strain on me coupled with other events in my life both health and financial wise earlier this year.

In so many ways I have recovered from many of those challenges this year. Yet, it has been difficult for me to get back to this site. Maybe because I had to deal with so much or the fact that my muse is now gone. I'm still not quite sure what the future holds, but I do hope that writing this post will help me get my groove back.

I guess one of the biggest questions is, "Do I still collect?" The answer is, "Yes." Even with my reduced space I do still collect. Especially, '66 Batman toys and collectibles. The past two years have been great for Batman TV series related merchandise. I had high hopes for Mattel, but as usual they tend to disappoint. However, I hope to share my Batman acquisitions with you soon.

Other highlights of the year have been meeting Jordan Hembrough, from Travel Channel's Toy Hunter, making changes to what and how I collect, and an exciting new business venture.

Soon as I can replace my bad hyperdrive motivator I should back in action. Oh, maybe that's what came in the mail today. Maybe I should open it up and find out. Stay tuned.
