Purging The Batcave Toy Room

It has been a a fangasmic two plus years here at The Batcave Toy Room. I have met some amazingly cool people, who share the same interest in toys and the comic books, movies, TV series, and media that inspire them. I'd like to say a special thanks to Jboypacman, author of Revenge From The Cosmic Ark and Invader From The Cosmic Ark, as well as The Boy Wonder (AKA Colin) author of the Super-Duper Toybox, who regularly follow what's happening in the toy room and putting in their two cents. Check out their blogs if you haven't already.

Not only do I love collecting toys, but I also like restoring them. There have been many toys like my Batman's Wayne Foundation that I have been able to restore good as new and there have been toys like my Spider-Man Helicopter that I tried for years to get the parts to restore it too it's Spidey glory, but was never able to complete. I actually was able to find the Spider-man Helicopter at a great price on eBay and ended up just buying a pretty much complete one rather continue trying to restore my original.

So, I have decided to purge the toy room of anything I can't restore, which is mainly just a bunch of parts, keep what I know I can restore and complete the gaps in my collection. Such as complete my Super Powers action figure collection and like Reis over at Hey, Look at My Toys, fill in the gaps of my Star Wars collection.

The toys in my collection give me so much joy and every time I go into The Batcave Toy Room I feel like a kid again going to Toy R US or the toy section of many department stores of yesteryear's. My seven year old nephew loves to come over to my house and just hang out in the toy room. I recently heard he tells his friends his Uncle John has a real lightsaber, referring to my Master Replica's FX lightsaber. His wide eyes and ear to ear smile remind me so much of myself, it's amazing. It is my hope that when you visit The Batcave Toy Room that you have the same joy in the toys that I love and I'd love to hear from you. Let me know what you like about the toy room, what you don't like, and what you'd like to see.
  • Do you like vintage Batman and Star Wars toys?
  • Should I discuss or not discuss the movies and TV series that inspire the toys we love?
  • Do you want me to continue my Quest for a Cowl series or should a start a separate blog for that?
  • See more of my toy restoring projects?
  • More collecting and restoring tips?
With all that, I will also start to clean up the site. If you haven't already noticed there is a new header for the blog. What do you think? I added the tag line of Home of the World's Greatest Toy Collection, which my collection is far from it, but it is my goal to achieve just that. At least where Batman and Star Wars toys are concerned. I only have a toy room so far. Check out Alex's blog at Toyhaven, he has a home full of toys.

I am going to take a break for a while, just a short one, as I sort through your comments and gear up what the direction I want to take with the blog. In the meantime, I will post what I am selling, cleaning up, and keep you up to to speed on what's happening. Until then, Come on, Robin. To the Batcave. Let's go!
