31 Days to a Better Toy Collection Challenge: Day 11

Vintage Kenner Death Star World action playsets from the Batcave Toy Room
Open the blast doors! Open the blast doors!

I had a request from toy collector JBoypacman to see more of my Death Star Playsets. So, here's a lesson in ask and thy shall receive.

Up next is a look at my Death Star World clean up project. I now have mint condition figures for both my Death Star Compactor and Death Escape action playsets. This pretty much wraps up the restoration of these two sets. However, I still need to dig up the the draw bridge for the Death Star Escape. I know I've come across it recently and I have a feeling I was thinking, what was this from? I hope I didn't sell it as part of some parts lot.

I had originally centered these playsets on the shelf, but when the doors are closed the frames for the doors distract from the view. So, I decided to move the sets over, which now leaves room for a Micro Collection X-Wing fighter and TIE fighter. The direct view still cuts off a portion of the view of the playsets, but for me this is less annoying.

Also, there was a misunderstanding on a question from collector Hobgoblin238 on how 3 3/4 figures would work along these sets. Here's another stab at attempting to show the scale and displayability of the two.

I am feeling really good about this challenge. Has anyone else been inspired to do the same and clean up their toy collection?

  1. Hey thanks John and I really love this set! I might have to get one at some point which is funny because I don't even collect Star Wars but have always liked the ideal of the Death Star.

    1. I love the Death Star and as a kid I always wanted to be on the side of the Empire so I could build one.
