Megozine # 1 is Finally Here

I've been patiently waiting for the first issue of Megozine, but the wait is finally over. Yes, this week I received my copy of the official magazine of The Mego Museum.

The gang from the Mego Museum and Plaid Stallions has produced the Megozine in celebration of toys produced and inspired by Mego. The vintage toy filled magazine has an Action Figure Insider feel to it. Except in this case, it deals with strictly Mego toys.

The front cover is a homage to Superman vs. Muhammad Ali, the classic tabloid sized comic book illustrated by the legendary Neal Adams. Inside they discuss the secret origins of the 1/6th scale Super Heroes with a look at what could have been with a glimpse at an unproduced action figure. The back cover has a cool look at promotion material for the unproduced Magnetic Spider-Man 12" action figure. While the magnetic hands and feet would have been perfect for simulating Spider-Man's ability to stick to walls, Mego only produced Batman and Robin scale action figures with this feature. The magnetic Batman and Robin were cool, but making a magnetic Spider-Man made much more sense.

I recommend picking up a copy of Megozine's first issue. I have my copy. Now get yours at the Plaidstallions Shop.

    3. Gosh darn it! I give them an allowance for the tea parties. I knew that wasn't tea leaves they were buying.
