Lets Take Another Look At Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Again Shall We?

After countless fake trailers being posted as of late, we finally get a peek at the real deal!

Yes, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has finally made its way to our galaxy via itunes.

We initially announced the trailer would premiere on Black Friday at Nine, No, Wait! Thirty theaters across the United States, but fortunately for most of us we longer have to drive 300 miles or more to catch a glimpse. Now we are able to do it from the comfort of our laptops or smart phones or the Batcave Toy Room for that matter.

The first Star Wars trailer in almost a decade gives us 88 seconds of material to analyze until the first official full trailer is released, which I speculate will possibly be as soon as next month or they may hold off until next years Star Wars Celebration.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, "The Force Awakens" stars returning alumni Harrison Ford, Marke Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and Warwick Davis, and newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christine. The film is scheduled to open December 18, 2015.

 Here's what on mind?
  1. Are we going to get to know Stormtroopers on a more intimate level? Or is John Boyega disguised a la Luke and Han?
  2. Why does everyone seem to be in a hurry to get somewhere?
  3. Is Han piloting the Falcon?
  4. Are Imperial Forces still part of a tyranny (TIE Fighters firing at the Falcon)?

What's on your mind after seeing the trailer?

Confirmed: Teaser Trailer For Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Premiere Friday

Many Bothans died to bring you this information, but...It's Official! The very first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on Black Friday.

However, not everyone will get a chance to see it.

The trailer for the latest Star Wars film will definitely hit theaters the day after Thanksgiving (coincidentally the first trailer for Jurassic World will also hit), but ONLY at nine preselected Regal Theaters around the United States and only during that weekend of November 28 to November 30.

Here are the nine theaters that will be showing the trailer:

Irvine, CA - Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX
San Diego, CA - Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
Atlanta, GA - Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
Chicago, IL - Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX
New York, NY - Regal Union Square Stadium 14
Warrington, PA - Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 & IMAX
Knoxville, TN - Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
Houston, TX - Edwards Houston Marq'E Stadium 23 IMAX & RPX
Seattle, WA - Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14 & IMAX

The good news is the trailer will be playing before every single movie showing that weekend. Unlike select movies when the first trailer for The Phantom Menace was released. Info has already been pulled from Regal's site. Luckily, sites like your friendly neighborhood Batcave Toy Room have the lowdown.

Still no word on when the trailer will get a full run at theaters every where, but we'll definitely be sharing soon as we hear.

How does everyone feel about this being in limited release? Anyone willing to make a trek to the closet theater to see it?

Toys of Future Past: Toy Archive - Vintage Star Wars Barada Action Figure

Vintage POTF Barada was part of the "Last 17"
"Klaatu barada nikto"

Some collectors and Star Wars aficionados may not know this, but three of Jabba the Hutt's cronies were named after a phrase that would save the human race in the film 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' and in 1985 the trinity was completed with the addition of the Barada action figure being included in the original vintage The Power of the Force toy line.

After going large and scoring a vintage Yak Face, the quest to complete my run of loose vintage Star Wars action figures continues. When the Last 17 Star Wars action Figures were released I did have the option to choose from the entire wave, with exception of the aforementioned Yak Face, but I could not afford to purchase them all at the time. By the time I replenished my funds, the last wave was already vanishing from the shelves and I missed out.

Vintage EV-9D9 and Barada second edition Jabba's Dungeon

I did have the option of getting Amanaman, EV-9D9, and Barada as part of the Sears exclusive second edition  Jabba The Hutt Dungeon Action Playset. However, I opted out as I had purchased the same set the year before, which included 8D8, Nikto, and Klaatu originally, and since I already had the same playset and had already bought Amanaman, I once again missed the chance to own a Barada and EV-9D9.

Mint in baggie Amanaman
In a way, the decision to pass on that playset has proven to be a costly mistake on my part. Fast forward twenty-nine years later and I have scored a complete Jabba's Dungeon Playset that set me back $300. However, with a mint Barada running around $60 and both EV-9D9 and Amanaman currently going for $100 each, I basically picked up the playset for $40. I did turn around and sell the Amanaman for $100, which in turn, I was able to acquire the two figures I had been looking for, plus a little different version of Jabba's Dungeon, for $200. Leaving me a happy collector.

Toys of Future Past: Toy Archive - Vintage Star Wars Yak Face Action Figure

Yak Face was the Last figure produced by Kenner
Known to be the last action figure produced by Kenner by collectors and falling under the moniker known as The Last Seventeen, which encompasses the final wave of the vintage Star Wars line, Yak Face is considered to be as rare or rarer than the Blue Snaggletooth and the vinyl caped Jawa action figures.

Even though this action figure is considered to be one of the five rarest, I had no problem scoring one off of eBay. New batches of Yak Faces are posted weekly. So, if you are looking to add one to your collection, you should be able to easily do so, but be warned. Prices for a loose Yak Face with weapon accessory in good condition can run you anywhere from $230 - $ 300 as of this writing. Even with that price tag, Yak Face continues to be a well sought after Star Wars collectible, which warrants its higher than average prices. Whew! Imagine what a mint on card version runs.

Speaking of mint on card. This figure is the only figure from the entire Kenner Star Wars vintage line to be carded on a Canadian Power of The Force Card.  Even though the figure was produced on a Canadian Card there apparently is no proof that it was ever sold in Canada. It was also produced for European markets on Tri-logo cards. Interestingly, it was never sold domestically in the United States, which helps add to the rarity.

Many vintage Star Wars action figures have minor variations, whether it be the size of Han Solo's head or the color of Luke Skywalker's hair, but the vintage Yak Face action figure has no known major variations. The figure typically came with a Skiff Guard Battle Staff , but the Tri-logo version can be found with anything from Palace Blasters, Bespin Blasters, or no weapon or accessory at all.

Like many collectors it would be years before I would find out about this figures existence. However, I couldn't be more pleased to now have it as part of my collection and to be one of the first figures I went for to complete my loose vintage figures. My motto with collecting is now, "Go big, Or go home!"

With that said, does anyone have a carded version for sale?
