Vintage Star Wars 3 3/4 Action Figures Done 12 Inch Style

While reading this months issue of Toyfare I come across an article regarding these cool vintage Star Wars 3 3/4 action figures re-created by Gentle Giant in a 12 inch format.

These figures were re-created from scans of mint 3 3/4 vintage action figures and are exact in every detail with the exception of size. The figures even come with faithfully re-created weapons and backer cards.

The first figure released was a Stormtrooper, which was a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive and sold for $85.

The Gentle Giant press release stated....

"Just like when you were a kid, only BIGGER! Gentle Giant is proud to debut their new line of vintage Star Wars Action Figure reproductions with the release of this classic Empire Strikes Back Stormtrooper.

One really cool thing about these beauties is the clam shell that protects the blister card is removable so you check the figure out or display it the way you want.

The next figure released was Boba Fett for Celebration V... just in time for the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.

There are 8 more figures in this collection scheduled to be released. Gentle Giant has hopes that they will produce 12 inch versions of all 90 classic vintage Star Wars Action Figures. I got to collect them all. They look sweet.

What do you think about the new figures?

Batman Cast Reunion on "America" Talk Show

I remember this reunion of the Batman cast from November 1985 on the short lived talk show, America. The reunion included Batman (Adam West), Batgirl (Yvonne Craig), and Catwoman (Julie Newmar).

The interview opens with a scene from the "Scat, Darn Catwoman" episode and Sarah Purcell mistakenly asks Catwoman how she felt about Batman blowing his nose on her costume, but in actuality, he pulled the bat-handkerchief from his utility belt.

This video is cut short, probably for YouTube time constraints, but Yvonne Craig says she was glad that Eartha Kitt played Catwoman during the third season because Julie was so much taller than her. Also, in a surprise moment McLean Stevenson pulls out a 45 record of Adam West's recording of the song Miranda. If you haven't heard the song before you can hear it HERE.

The Dark Knight: Brokeback Mountain Style

I came across this video from Totally Sketch today of a parody of the interrogation scene from The Dark Knight and found it kind of funny. Now I am not saying it's cool for there to be a homophobic Batman, but take it with a grain of salt.

Rare Interview with the 1966 Batman: The Movie Cast

I came across this rare video of interviews conducted by Jean Boone at the Austin, Texas premiere of the 1966 Batman movie. The interviews include, my favorite Catwoman, Lee Meriwether. Although, she did appear in a King Tut episode, I wish she would have appeared as Catwoman on the TV series.

Also, Cesar Romero is interviewed. I was surprised to find out he knew the origin of the Joker and knew why he has green hair.

To round out the interview Adam West and William Dozier appear. Check this out. It's really cool to find this rare video.

Watch the interview here.

Nick at Nite Promo with Adam West

Here's a look at an old Nick at Nite promo with TVs Batman, Adam West. I am not sure, but I think the Batman television series only aired on TV Land. Interestingly enough, they used Adam for this promo for shows like Mr. Ed and The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.

Marion Cotillard Cast as Catwoman in Batman 3

I had a chance to check out Christopher Nolan's Inception this weekend, which I thought was quite entertaining, but I was thinking the whole time, "Holy, Batman cast!"

Nolan had cast in is latest film a slew of past Batman film cast members like: Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow), Ken Watanabe (Ra's Al Ghul), and Micheal Caine (Alfred Pennyworth). The film also starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who currently is rumored to have an interest in playing the Riddler. As this had all dawned on me I thought, "Wow! Marion Cotillard could be a pretty sweet Catwoman."

Although things are still tight lipped on who the next Bat-Villain or villains will be, we know it won't be the Joker or Mr. Freeze. For me just as they hinted that the Joker would be the next villain in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight possibly hints that Catwoman would be in the next Batman movie during a conversation between Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox about the latest Bat-suit design with Fox stating, "Should do fine against cats."

What do you think of Marion Cotillard playing the next Catwoman?
